The campaign videos on this page were created in-house at Sound United for less than $1000 each. They’re testament to what can be achieved when you roll up your sleeves and live within your means.
The explainer videos were produced by Sophie Creatives, using my scripts.
Polk Legend
“It takes a little crazy to achieve the impossible.”
Polk Legend loudspeakers include a technology that causes a single pair of stereo speakers to sound like they’re all around you. The experience is so unique that it doesn’t seem possible.
The launch audience for Legend was the Polkies — the Polk fanatics who remembered SDA from long ago and who had been clamoring for Polk to bring the technology back for years. The Polkies are crazy about Polk and proud of it.
I combined the notions of crazy Polkies with impossible tech in this script. Our video editor did the rest.
Marantz Model 30
“But when you do? Immortality.”
Marantz was beginning to transform from an audio HiFi brand to a luxury audio brand when the Model 30 amplifier launched. We needed to set the tone for the future of Marantz while not alienating Marantz enthusiasts.
The head of Marantz had an idea about “Immortality,” focusing on the notion that Marantz products are often passed down from generation to generation. He wrote a first draft script himself.
The idea was strong but too long and complicated. I cut the script down to only a few simple lines, then worked with our editor to turn the script into this video.
Polk React
“For the voice control freak.”
Polk React was the first sound bar with Amazon Alexa fully built in — a novel feature clearly worth emphasizing. But it was unclear how consumers would respond.
I decided that React’s launch campaign needed two distinct messaging options: Alexa as the lead story and a more traditional audio message.
Explainer Videos
I wrote these explainer videos, the first for non-profit LOT Network, the second for Polk Audio, and the third for Definitive Technology.
Sophie Creatives created the animations and handled all additional production needs.
